Parties and case identification

Court, case number, parties and procedural roles identify the decision. The translation preserves the source roles without adapting them to a different legal system or assuming two similarly named parties are the same entity.

Reasoning and operative orders

A judgment may discuss arguments before stating what the court orders. Keep those parts distinct. A rejected argument must not read as a court finding, and a conditional order must retain its condition.

Finality, appeals and later entries

A later certification may refer to appeal status or finality. Translate the statement and date as printed without independently deciding the decision's legal effect. Include the later entry if it is part of the requested record.

References, exhibits and page continuity
