Biographical page and issuing details

The identity page links a person's name, photograph, passport number, nationality, birth details and issuing authority. Expiration and issue dates are separate fields. Send a flat, complete image without glare over the laminated area, and include the page edges so nothing is omitted.

Observations and additional pages

An observation page may amend a name or refer to another travel document. Tell us which pages the recipient requested; a passport translation does not automatically mean every page in the booklet. The quote identifies the submitted pages and any additional observations included.

Visa labels and entry or exit stamps

Visa labels and travel stamps contain different information from the identity page. When included in the scope, dates, place names, visa categories and readable annotations must remain associated with the correct page. Overlapping or faint stamps may require higher-resolution images.

Transliteration and machine-readable text

A name written in more than one script may also appear in machine-readable form. Supply all relevant name fields rather than cropping to one spelling. The translation distinguishes what the passport prints from a supplied reference spelling; it does not change passport identity data.
